Colorado Road Ranch Estate

On the boards

This old farmhouse built in the early 1900s was in need of a complete gut and remodel to bring it into the 21st century. The client was a surgeon new to Mancos, Colorado, with a family including 3 children. Not only was a reimagining of this home design needing to fit the understated yet prestigious surgeon of this small town but the existing home felt too small and compressed to allow this family to play, and live comfortably in their new life.

The elements of the high desert, along with the surrounding landscapes combining ranches, mountain ranges and vistas that stretched on seemingly infinitely were all vital aspects of the framework for inception of the “True Modern Farmhouse”.
