Atterhom Residence

On The Boards

With working from home as a stand practice these days, both the husband and wife found themselves working out of their home and needing to have their own, defined areas to work. With a teenage son taking up more space, and the desire to do more entertaining the Atterhom family decided to build out and up, taking a portion of their back patio and adding an oversized living area to allow for a home that felt large and open yet defined and separate enough for each area to function as distinctly independent spaces.

As a California native, the wife was drawn to bright and spirited designs, while the husband desired a Swedish masculine minimalist feel. We landed on a Scandinavian inspired, eclectic style that exuded both a masculine and sunny aesthetic, with a goal to incorporate their collection of art and artifacts from around the world.

The home we designed felt perfectly suited for their family and provided for all the functional needs they desired at the onset of the project.
